Post-CPD Resources – January 27, 2021

As part of the 2021 OPA CPD Series, the Education Committee presented a remote live-streamed Zoom CPD:

Dear OPA members,

Firstly, the Education Committee wishes to extend its thanks to all of you who attended our first CPD of 2021 on January 27. Speakers Alysia Davies and Darryl Singer led an engaging conversation concerning how mental health affects members of the paralegal profession and discussed several beneficial community resources available to support paralegals and their families looking for professional guidance and counselling.

There are many requests for the resources Alysia and Darryl mentioned at the CPD, including the CPD itself. We are awaiting CPD accreditation from the LSO, and we are working very hard to make the recording available online in our CPD library. We are ironing out some final technical details to make that possible, and we appreciate your patience! The CPD will be available to view very shortly, please visit the Professional Development and Learning Portal at for all the latest news and updates.

Listed below is the link to the Member Assistance Program (MAP), which is made available through the LSO. As Alysia discussed, it is a valuable resource for paralegals and their families looking for professional assistance with their health and wellness goals. Members can access the LSO’s MAP directly at https://lso.ca/paralegals/practice-supports-and-resources/member-assistance-program-(1).

If you have any further questions about the resources for this CPD, please reach out to the Education Committee at [email protected], or to the Chair, Doug Taylor directly at [email protected].

Thank you,
Your OPA Education Committee
